Senior Software Engineer

Fast growing, innovative, Boston quantitative equity boutique seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, code and maintain investment systems used for trading, optimization, stock selection, performance measurement, and portfolio accounting purposes as well as other business systems.  The ideal candidate will have experience using the Barra Aegis platform, will have experience in developing applications that utilize the Barra ADT, the Bloomberg API, and Factset data tools, will have a minimum of 3 years experience in developing and maintaining a number of proprietary financial services software tools such as performance measurement systems, trading systems, risk management systems and stock selection/optimization processes, will have a degree in computer sciences or equivalent as well as an MBA, CFA or equivalent experience. The appropriate candidate will have developed professional applications in a timely manner in both VB and VBA, will be skilled at using and developing software routines for use with Excel, and will have the expertise to develop applications in at least one other high level programming language such as C or C++. Familiarity with statistical languages, such as SAS, Matlab, S-Plus or R is a plus. The appropriate candidate will be a self-starter, have good verbal and written communication skills, be able to work well with others (both developers and users) as well as be able to work independently through all phases of the development process from inception to completion, with minimal supervision.
